Museo MABOS. Sorbo San Basile (Cz)
15 novembre 2018
Educational activities at the museum continue. Following “La Macchia,” the Land Art Project, and “Il Canto dei Nuovi Emigranti,” a laboratory of Action Theater and Digital Photography, the three artists Giuseppe Barilaro, Giuseppe Ferrise, and Angelo Gallo present “DOMUS – The House of Peace.” This Land Art project involves the creation of an artwork by 100 students from the Istituto Comprensivo Statale Ardore, Benestare, Careri, and Ciminà, made possible through the funding from the POR Calabria FERS-FSE 2014-2020, Priority Axis 12 – Education and Training – Specific Objective “Interventions to support students characterized by particular vulnerabilities, including people with disabilities – making school outside the classroom.” The students will work closely with the artists Barilaro, Ferrise, and Gallo, alternating artistic activities with educational ones. This approach allows students to perceive an artistic concept both intellectually and through hands-on experience. Following the artists’ project, each student will design their piece, a house of peace, which they will produce and color. Together, these individual pieces will form a collective artwork, creating a traversable village of peace in the woods of Sila, at the Mabos. Colors, wood, and raffia will tell a story of unity, acceptance, smiles, and gestures of agreement. In a place like this, one does not bring nerves and negative thoughts; money or political position do not matter. Here, only humanity exists within nature, in a perfect ecumene. The “DOMUS” Land Art project will not only enrich the vast natural exhibition space of the Mabos Museum but will also be included in the museum's annual catalog.
