The MABOS, or Museum of Art of the Sila Forest, spans over thirty thousand square meters of forest near the Granaro Park Hotel in the municipality of Sorbo San Basile (Cz). It is an innovative museum that connects contemporary art and nature, offering a path that winds through cultures located within the forest.
Serra-Laboratory Space is a multidisciplinary area of five hundred square meters, comprising a workshop and an exhibition space.

The MABOS project aims to enhance the mountain through contemporary art in its various forms, from painting to sculpture, site-specific installation, performance, photography, and video art. It represents a perfect synergy between environmental protection, the enhancement of natural heritage, and contemporary art, with the goal of providing a different and highly innovative path.
Man and Nature share an ancient, ancestral relationship that contemporary society often forgets. The forest becomes a point of connection between the environment and the art of our time. It is an invitation to appreciate the beauty of art and the beauty of nature.
Everything begins with an idea, or rather a need, and that is precisely what MABOS is—a need to immerse oneself in art, because when you engage with art, you come to love it. MABOS was created with the intent to become a space for research used by invited artists, providing a moment of reflection on their artistic journey. The exhibited works are exclusively the result of this research conducted on-site in a truly unique setting, in harmony with the Sila forest, installed in an area of about 5 hectares open to all. Our goal is to offer a bit of beauty in a historically resistant territory. The essence of MABOS stems from the union of two concepts: respect for nature on one side and artistic experimentation on the other. The aim is to enhance the natural heritage of our land through contemporary art. Each event held in this direction represents an opportunity for knowledge that broadens our understanding of art, aimed at igniting a harmonious process of cultural growth and development in an important area of the Calabrian mountains. Thus, MABOS was born to convey the power of nature through the language of art, which is a universal language. The connection between contemporary art and nature is more essential now than ever, positioning itself as a true cultural driving force, focusing on the reconstruction of the bond between man and nature—one of the most important challenges of our century and crucial for the new generation. A significant commitment awaits us in the educational realm, engaging young people, students, and schools of all levels through qualified educational projects and an experiential center for environmental education. The vision is to create a new educational space where learning, art, fun, history, legend, and natural secrets become interior experiences, merging into a single place nestled among the magical woods of Sila.
