Rooms of Imaginary Life - 2024

In residence, Pietro De Scisciolo and Sebastiano Dammone Sessa.

On Wednesday, July 17, the MABOS โ€“ Museum of Art of the Sila Forest launched the first of the ๐—ฅ๐—ฒ๐˜€๐—ถ๐—ฑ๐—ฒ๐—ป๐˜‡๐—ฒ ๐—ฆ๐—˜๐—ก๐—ฆ๐—˜ ๐Ÿฎ๐Ÿฌ๐Ÿฎ๐Ÿฐ, all united this year under a single title: ๐—œ๐—บ๐—ฎ๐—ด๐—ถ๐—ป๐—ฎ๐—ฟ๐˜† ๐—Ÿ๐—ถ๐—ณ๐—ฒ ๐—ฅ๐—ผ๐—ผ๐—บ๐˜€.

On July 21, the outcomes were presented in a conference open to the public.

The resident artists were Pietro De Scisciolo and Sebastiano Dammone Sessa, the first official testers of the rooms of imagination. Alongside them, poet Davide Brullo was tasked with guiding the entire residency experience within and beyond the boundaries of his poetic vision. This Extraordinary Edition was conceived on the occasion of the Centenary of the birth of Calabrian poet Franco Costabile, which was reflected in its cover designed by (Artistic Director of The Calabreser). It embodies the MABOS's commitment to actively participate in the celebratory program developed by the ๐˜พ๐™ค๐™ข๐™ž๐™ฉ๐™–๐™ฉ๐™ค ๐™๐™ง๐™–๐™ฃ๐™˜๐™ค ๐˜พ๐™ค๐™จ๐™ฉ๐™–๐™—๐™ž๐™ก๐™š 100, which it has supported since its establishment.

**Imaginary Life Rooms** is the name we have chosen for this unique form of coexistence between poetic and artistic vision, to be tested within the boundaries of forested terraces selected by each artist for the placement of their work, which is then "inhabited" by a poet. In collaboration with the collective ๐—Ÿ๐—ฎ ๐— ๐—ฎ๐˜€๐—ป๐—ฎ๐—ฑ๐—ฎ, active in the area for 25 years in promoting and enhancing poetic expression, several of the most influential figures in contemporary poetry have been invited to participate in this 2024 edition.

The MABOS - Museum of Art of the Sila Forest

The MABOS, Museum of Art of the Sila Forest, is the place where Art and the Forest come together, creating an exhibition and workshop park that welcomes artists, art critics and historians, curators, and enthusiasts. The exhibition parkโ€” which has been expanding its collection year after year since 2017, and therefore features a variable number of artworksโ€”can be explored for free at any time of the day or night. Visitors may even have the chance to encounter resident artists, witness the creation process of an artwork, and take part in events, cultural talks, and educational workshops for both adults and children.

SENSE It is funded with resources from the PSC Development and Cohesion Plan 6.02.02 granted following the 'Cultural Activities 2022' announcement by the Calabria Region โ€“ Department of Education, Training, and Equal Opportunities โ€“ Culture Sector".
