The artist in residence is the sculptor Paolo Migliazza, with curatorship by Gabriele Salvaterra and artistic direction by Roberto Sottile. The 30th of April, a chiusura, è stata presentata l’opera prodotta in residenza a seguito della passeggiata nel Mabos ed il dialogo con il curatore.

Residency SENSE Carnation Sleep

A more than evocative title. A quotation, a tribute to the Calabrian poet Franco Costabile, aimed at inaugurating a new artistic and residential season marked by clear poetic tones and influences. A snapshot of nightlife, a frame of a silent village, a sleep of carnations that culminates in the surge of a protective bird's-eye view. A perspective, as one would say in the jargon of painting and cartography, from an aerial viewpoint. The protagonist of this relationship and particular high-altitude operation is the sculptor Paolo Migliazza from Girifalco, who returns to his homeland for an outdoor dialogue with the forest environment of the MABOS. An art and nature site already ready to welcome him back and engage with the aesthetic and linguistic properties of his work.

Paolo Migliazza

Born in Catanzaro in 1988, after studying at the State Artistic High School, he moved to Bologna, where he attended the Academy of Fine Arts, graduating in 2013 with a first-level diploma in sculpture. His thesis focused on the evolution of the plastic language that characterized the last century. He continued his academic studies in sculpture by enrolling in a two-year specialization program. Among his main exhibitions: In 2015, he participated in "Infanzia Terrena," with Nicola Amato, at the Casa Museo Giorgio Morandi in Grizzana Morandi, curated by Stella Ingino and with artistic direction by Eleonora Frattarolo.
