The MABOS, the Museum of Art of the Sila Forest, was illuminated with beauty thanks to the artist residency "The Light Bread"from November 4 to 13, was the Calabrian sculptor Antonio Tropiano. The title chosen for this event is closely linked to the place where the artist worked and is derived from a poem by Franco Costabile: in one of the highest areas of the path, historically designated for the threshing of wheat. Thus, the title of the artist residency takes root in that land which, before today, has seen the passage of hardworking hands that cared for the mother earth. Bread and light are essential elements for human life. The residency concluded with a walk among the works at the MABOS and the presentation of the artwork with the artist Tropiano, supported by critic Alberto Dambruoso on SUNDAY, NOVEMBER 13, 2022."
During the residency, the artist created the work Among the Pines. Listen to an insight about the artwork narrated by art historian Elisabetta Longo by clicking on LISTEN NOW or watch the video of Antonio Tropiano discussing his work below or of Alberto Dambruoso.
