Sensorial Experiences Icons is the name of the second SENSE residency of 2019 at the MABOS. Icons of Sensory Experience created by the selected artists for the residency, featuring multisensory environments that are intimate and focused on personal research. SIX are the selected artistic projects, SIX are the environments that will be created, and SIX is the acronym that encapsulates the residency's concept. On August 23, 2019, ten artists from various regions of Italy arrived at the MABOS, Museum of Art of the Sila Forest. The collectives Camera 237 (Angelo Gallo e Lucy Mey); {movimentomilc} (Michele Tarzia e Vincenzo Vecchio); Collettivo noMade (Edoardo Gino, Fabio Pennacchia e Lea Walter) e gli artisti Ninni Donato, Costantino Rizzuti e Marco Stefanelli. All the collectives and selected artists have long been on a path of sensory experimentation in their artistic research, each using innovative and contemporary audiovisual technologies in their own way. Elisabetta Longo is the young art historian selected for“Critical Diaries of MABOS”". Thanks to an internship agreement with the Department of Humanities at the University of Calabria, as with every residency, a young art historian selected by the Unical professor and a member of the scientific committee, Leonardo Passarelli, was present. The residency concluded on Sunday, September 1, 2019, with a final event aimed at presenting the new sensory works that were created within six residences, built of laminated wood, completely immersed in the museum of the Sila forest.
