
The fourth appointment of the residencies "SENSE" of the Mabos, titled "Forge of Ingenuity" started on September 7, 2018, and was centered around the figure of the artist Mastro Saverio Rotundo calledu ciaciu" . The artists involved in this 'SENSE' appointment were Diego D’agostino (Reggio Calabria), Giuseppe Lococo (Messina) e Adriano Ponte (Napoli), and as is customary for the residencies at the MABOS, the three artists will be observed by the keen eye of a young art critic. In “Forge of IngenuityAll three artists involved received documents regarding the life of Mastro Saverio Rotundo, a ninety-four-year-old artist from Catanzaro, a former blacksmith, who has always been interested in producing works from recycled iron, compressions, weldings, and assemblages that have characterized his countless workshops in the alleys of Catanzaro. The residency on September 16 paid tribute to this emblematic figure with the presentation of the works created by the artists involved in the residency, who were chosen for their unique artistic characteristics related to the theme. Additionally, on the last day, a performance was held Co2 of artists Jaqueline Gisele Rodriguez e Paola MorpheusThe costume for the performance, in particular, was made from recycled and leftover materials, in line with Mastro Saverio's research.
An exhibition space was also set up in the greenhouse-laboratory where photographic portraits of Mastro Saverio Rotundo, created by the artist, were displayed Oreste Montebello.
